Tooth Gate 2010

So for those of you haven't heard in one way or another I have learned my lesson the hard, very hard way. At the risk of sounding like a public service annoucement for the American Dental Association...I'll just say this....GO TO THE DENTIST REGULARLY!!!!! I actually take relatively good care of my teeth, but a while back(I'm talking like a year and half ago) I lost a filling. It has never bothered me and has never hurt, boy that changed this weekend.

Friday afternoon at work it started aching a little. Saturday afternoon I cried for like three hours straight becuase the pain was so bad, called my dr and he called in some antibiotics for me. Sunday I was still a little sore, but for the most part....well I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Normally, I would have too much pride to post these, but I'm hoping that it'll scare someone else enough to get issues fixed asap. I'm on day 4 of my antibiotics now and today was my third day at the dentist. No pain now because they removed the nerve, but I have to go next Wednesday to get a root canal(they can't do this until the infection is completely gone).

Not only is this physically painful but absolutely emotionally draining. Luckily I have an amazing husband and daughter who took great care of me(even though I was called "softball face" and "chipmunk cheeks"..who could blame 'em). I've gone and bought me a brand new toothbrush and some potent mouth rinse and will be scheduling my cleaning after my root canal is taken care of. It really goes to show how important it is to take care of yourself amongst all the hussle and bussle.

I've been held up in the house for about 5 days which is like torture for me cause I always need to be up and about doing something. So I feel very out of sorts, but back to work tomorrow and I couldn't be more excited!!! And oh yea, another bummer; I was supposed to fly back to Maine this week to spend some relaxing time with the fam, but had to postpone because of this whole ordeal which really bummed me out. Luckily, due to the circumstances, the airline didn't charge me the change fee.

Well, that's my story and hope none of you ever have to go through this. Tooth pain is on a whole different level. Makes me kind of reconsider wanting to have a natural birth with no pain meds(no not pregant yet). Ughh can't even imagine.

Welcome To Colorado

Well we can say the words spring and soccer but living in Colorado teaches you that Mother Nature always has the last word. Once you get out of the neighbor hoods its not that bad.





Of course once you get to the street lights, you better pay attention and know where your going!

St. Pattys Day

On Saturday, Kenzie and Mom decided to take a trip to a parade. They had a lot of fun, and Kenzie said that she was super good, cause once again "That what Mackenzies do" The attitude look of course comes from Mom.

Soccer

Soccer time is here! Kenzie decided it would be fun to play so we signed her up for U5 Soccer :) I am coaching the team and super excited that she wants to try it. Hopefully it will catch on and be something that she loves to do. In her words "Its easy to play" and "Thats just what Mackenzies do"

BOULDER — Here's a job title that didn't exist a couple of years ago: bud tender.
"Hundreds of people come in here and want a job," says Jan Cole, owner of GreenLeaf Farm, a dispensary in downtown Boulder, she says, and then amends it to about a hundred. Cole bud tends herself and has hired five or six bud tenders, often former patients, whose knowledge on the subject impressed her.

Cole, who pays her budtenders between $10 and $20 an hour, says some of her best budtenders are University of Colorado students, who became patients to deal with pain from skiing or snowboarding injuries. – Tyler Edit - I’ve hired college students who like to ski and snowboard to tend my pot for me

Sarah Reidy, a budtender at GreenLeaf Farm, isn't yet sure whether medical marijuana will be a part of her career future, but it's a possibility.
